Love to you, msbelle.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My folks are in town on their annual migration north. They are here a day earlier than usual because we finally set up the immersion for Mr. S.(Final steps for conversion which involves the ritual bath.)

Thrive to spite them

The cat got food.

We went to th Gulf Specimen Marine Lab which is cool place and my aunt is dating the owner/founder. My grandma came as well, she didn't feel like walking around so she sat in the office. Which is good because she went to use the bathroom and collapsed and passed out.

My aunt called 911 and we weren't sure if it was dehydration or a TIA or a full stroke at first . I ended up supporting her so she could sit up right on the floor and we got her cooled off and she kind of came too. She was awake but not aware. The EMTs came and were so kind and awesome. They had called the helicopter to come in case she had to go to the hospital, which she did. Without the helicopter it would have taken them an hour with the traffic.

My aunt insisted we stay and continue and we did. It was a weird feeling but my aunt showed us the cuttlefish , which is her favorite, before we left. She started to apologize but she needed a distraction before she left to get clothes for grandma and to go to the hospital.

The staff at the marine lab were wonderful but my aunt said she was glad I was there. Thanks really hard because my grandma's younger sister started having TIAs more frequently before she had 2 serious strokes but my grandma is 98. I think or 97 . So this is what we are facing.

So yesterday was weird , a mix of good and not so good.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh dear, askye. Much ~ma for your grandmother.

My sister had cataract surgery Wednesday and she called me yesterday to let me know she was amusing herself by looking at things with one eye then the other. Apparently the color difference is striking. She had painted her living room and kitchen a couple years ago and she said the color is quite different than she realized. In a good way fortunately. She gets the other eye done next week.

I'm so glad Paul Ryan will be leaving congress. I really find him annoying with the way he talks about wanting to help people and caring while working hard to make sure the wealthy pay fewer taxes and the people he says he wants to help get fewer services. I get that he might be sincere in his faith in markets, but he's plenty old enough to know that's not how the world actually works.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Love to you msbelle. I hope things are better today.

askye, lots of ~ma for your grandmother.

A belated and heartfelt thanks to all of the Buffistas who donated to my Rock Roulette band. You all were among my most supportive donors, even though I'm hardly around these days, which just goes to show that family is family. Thanks in part to you, we collectively exceeded our fundraising goals (as a band) by over $700, and as an event by over $1500! Awesome!

Also, I did a thing I was terrified to do, (got up on stage and performed) and it was fun. We weren't the best band out of the nine, but we definitely weren't the worst, and I think I'm going to do it next year. Maybe I'll even try to learn another instrument!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am entirely over this week and am ready for it to end.
