The quotes I've read were that he "believes" he has the right to do it, and that they "have been advised" that he has the right to do it.

I just read about the number of Republican Congresspeople not seeking re-election being the most since the Watergate scandal. Unfortunately that probably means Tea Party candidates running in their place these days.

Trump simply has never met a problem that he couldn't sue or pay off his way out of, so no wonder he's sticking to the idea that if he just fires enough people, the problem will be put off until people forget about it.
