I am really really up for having a housemate - like really really. Co-owners or me buying a place I can more or less afford alone and having housemate pay a rent they can afford.
Feel free to send applications.
The move should be happening either fall/winter 2019 or early 2020.
msbelle, do you know where you're moving to?
One interview down, 2 to go. Guys, I've been 'on' for strangers for the majority of the past 4 days (I don't count breakfast with my friend in Durham or the drive) and I've got 2 more. I'm hosting the interviewees, so that means that after the interview(padding built in for questions, shuttles to other site, etc) & before lunch, show them around & chitchat. Unlike some of my colleagues, I don't just park them in the room with couches (which I'm appalled by, but not uncommon practice), I bring 'em back to my office and don't talk work, just normal stuff you'd do with a newly met stranger.I think I'm doing a really good job of it, but it's exhausting. But I feel it is only fair. Especially for this position, which is entry level, so nerves in abundance.
Also, this person is gonna be my minion. I gotta like you.
msbelle wants to move into my basement, but I need more distance than that. Not worried about her becoming housebound. You'll find a neighborhood that fits your need for interaction (even if it contains me, perfectly content to not speak to humans for days.)
(I mean, I am! But my neighborhood means I talk to at least one neighbor a day, if not six, even just casually. My cats won't have time to eat me before folks investigate if I dropped dead.)
I am most likely either moving to B'more or the greater LA area, likely the suburbs south of LA.
The move should be happening either fall/winter 2019 or early 2020.
Hm. I plan to be looking for a new job in earnest in 2019 and that might be facilitated by relocating. Something to think about.
Jesse -- so sorry for your loss and thinking of your family
