Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
The move should be happening either fall/winter 2019 or early 2020.
Hm. I plan to be looking for a new job in earnest in 2019 and that might be facilitated by relocating. Something to think about.
Jesse -- so sorry for your loss and thinking of your family
I believe you know my vote too - sorry sarameg and lisah
-t, I'm so sorry about your friend.
I'm so excited about the Cohen warrants! And it's making Trump lose his shit completely. Which is good (because he's guilty as hell, who knows what all evidence Cohen has), but also bad, because he's going to bomb Syria or start another war or fire Sessions/Rosenstein/Mueller and precipitate a constitutional crisis.
I would really like for the crises to slow down and the indictments to step up.

Or nuke N Korea. It is a wonderful development, and any day that bogus potus is miserable has an upside. The fears above are quite real, and equally concerning is the permanent damage he has already done. The list gets longer every day. In particular the judicial appointments have such long lasting implications.
ION, we have a state rep special election today. Hope to turn another one. eta: Not actually turning since it is replacing a Dem who had to resign because he had an affair with a lobbyist. But turning because both the Dem and Rep candidates are women this time. I think the district is probably fairly safe to stay blue, but I take no chances.
I super secret want to move to Baltimore or Chicago. They seem to have the spirit I like about where I am. My other fantasy is a rural sheep farm. I do miss rural a lot. City is superior to suburban for me, I love my little Dunkin Donuts where they put hearts on my cup because I am a regular.
I'm just going to put it out there that the rural is no place to retire. Obviously, I am a city person in general and I know there are plenty of rural people who would disagree, but you need resources! And access to those resources!
I have family friends (my parents' friends/my friend's parents) who bought a farm house a few years ago, and sold it pretty quickly after that. Partly it's because they realized they wanted to spend more time with grandkids, but they did realize they didn't want that to be their home base in their old age.

Fair!
Sophia you should totally move here, too!

Very true. When I am in the Adirondacks I am 45 minutes away, speeding, from the nearest hospital. It is a real consideration for a lot of people.
I am a city person. I want close 24 hour a day access to anything and everything. And delivery options! I know some rural areas have fairly close everything, but I want around the corner everything.
