Do you grasp my quandry?
EVERY DAY
Do you grasp my quandry?
Yes. The scary part is, I've accomplished a lot of things at the office today that I've been -- delaying more than not-wanting-to -- for some time.
None of those things have anything to do with work. Unless you count what I'm doing about my retirement account.
So, I could not get out of bed this morning because the room was spinning too much so I am taking a sick day. The cats are pretty pleased with this arrangement.
-t, please get this checked out. I'm worried about you.
Big piles of Don't Wanna are following me around. I have hit the wall of being homebound, scooter dependent, and my ability to ask for help is completely depleted. Two more weeks and I should be able to get rid of the scooter. Then two to four after that, hopefully, I can ditch the boot and drive wherever I want, whenever I want.
The lack of accessibility in my house is astounding. No way into the house without steps. No ground floor bedroom or full bath. No grip bars in the shower. I'm sure there is more, these are just the things that I run into daily. And then when I DO go out in the world? It is ridiculous. Which I know is not new news, but dang.
As much as I ADORE my hairdresser, I've been with her for years, her new salon is not accessible and I kinda want to boycott. It took me forever to find her, but I want to be a better advocate for accessibility.
It often takes altered perspective to realize a need for better accessibility. My recommendation for your hairdresser? Once you recover, don't boycott, but remember to work for better accessibility in general. It's hard to remember how limiting the lack can be, at least it was for me, once back on my feet. And too, her choices for workspace may be limited by other factors, and making everywhere more accessible will affect new construction and retrofitting of existing construction.
-t, I echo getting the dizziness checked out. It's concerning.
-t, are your eyes jerking back and forth when things get dizzy? Do things get worse when you lean over and/or bend your head to the side? If so, you might have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. Which is (a) awful; and (b) often easily fixed.
If not, I can't help you, but if it is BPPV, I recommend looking on Youtube for videos of the Epley Maneuver, which is super helpful.
I have cleaned the kitchen and started laundry and done some paperwork but now I have to make phone calls and whatnot, which I dislike. Bah.
-t, it may just be benign paroxysmal positional vertigo which I have had and is pretty easy to treat. But, I agree, it's best to get it checked out. Sadly, another one of those signs of aging.
Ooh, that sounds like it! Thanks!
And I have an appointment on Monday
Be gentle on yourself over the weekend. I'm glad you made an appointment. Let's hope it is the easy fix mentioned above.
