Yikes, Dana! Glad he's okay.

Bomb threat at the community college near me, btw. There's just too goddam much of this crap.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Doesn't his job allow him to supervise kids off campus? At the very least can you ask the school to reassign his duties such that he won't be allowed to do that?

I also think, if your parent/booster group is anything like the ones at my kids' schools, you'll get them riled up pretty quickly if you go to them with your evidence about the group he works for and their recruitment techniques, and why you think he's targeting your children.

But I also have to ask, what possible legal threats could the group hold over the school district? That makes no sense. He wasn't a tenured teacher, was he? Schools are allowed to fire secondary staff. There's something fishy there

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I don't get what possible concern the school district could have either -- he's only a substitute, and he clearly violated explicit district policy regarding social media contacts between students and faculty without parental permission. I don't get why he hasn't been told flat-out that he is no longer allowed to sub, the end.

This is a district where for budget reasons all the younger teachers, the real fully certified ones who've been leading their classrooms all year, routinely get pink-slipped every spring and have to wait until just before school starts to find out if they're hired back. Why the hell is the district extending itself one inch for this asshole?

This sounds like something the local news might want to hear about.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And the package bombs in Austin?

Yep! Got family there, so of course I had to look at that story and make sure, just on the very remote chance that they were affected. Which they weren't, because the bomber is targeting black people. WTF.

These girls in the New Orleans airport are bitching because there isn't a Starbucks. Just a local chain called PJs.

"Who is PJ?" one sneered.

I have not yet dumped my Coke on them.

Damn, msbelle! Nice friend.

Admirable restraint, Dana. Do they know who Starbucks is? Any of them? Doubt it.

Found my stupid badge wedged between the driver's seat and the console where Istg I looked first, but of course I couldn't see it until I looked EVERYWHERE else and resigned myself to needing to get a new one.

What I'm actually annoyed with myself about is that I lost track of time and stayed st work nearly an hour longer than I should have and when I dashed over to the DMV it was still open (I think) but the parking lot was full to overflowing and I could not bring myself to park in the empty lot nearby and trudge over. So I still have going to the DMV to look forward to.

Ah, well. On the right side, Fairfield is having their restaurant week now so I stopped by a taqueria on the way home. They have corned beef tacos for St. Patrick's Day week so of course I got one. Delish. And excellent horchata.

Ooooh. I needs dis.

However, I feel like I'm fighting a cold (a gift from my husband), so I made gluten-free ramen tonight. I haven't had ramen in SO LONG. The noodles were perfect! (But gluten-free ramen noodles are NOT cheap like regular ramen, damn it.)
