Best Buy sees a lot of weird and old stuff come through recycing. When I worked there it was kinda fun to see what was brought in. One time everyone was talking about the Nintendo Cube and games that were brought in. A few people were wishing they could take it home.
I would double check the policy on CRT monitors before taking it in. I think there are restrictions and maybe a fee.
I woke up at the normal time-ish, which is good, because I guess my body was trying to wake up an hour early?
Had a good chat with my boss this morning, where she suggested I talk to HR before following up with the staff. And confirmed that it basically was the one bad apple, which I am now going to banish from my thoughts so I can keep working with her.
So I have do a basic background check to get a government badge for a thing and ....they misspelled my name on the background check/ ID verification submission.
Why do I think this might turn into a mess?
I had training in what to do if I mispelled someone's name when running a background check for caregiver employment. Darned if I remember how to do it, though. There SHOULD be a way for them to fix it, but every system is different so I do not know how big a PITA it will be, sarameg.
Mine should be interesting since I have had 5 last names. I see reference to it sometimes on credit reports under the AKA section.
That sounds like fun, sarameg.
Grr, I got to work 20 minutes early and found when I got to the door that I didn't have my badge. Went back to my car and thoroughly searched my purse, not there. Checked the car floorboards because it not infrequently ends up there, but not this time. Figured since I was early I should go home and see if it was in the spot by the door where I try to leave it. Did that, not there. Nor in my gym bag nor coat pockets nor nightstand. My best guess is it's in teh laundry somewhere but finding it is going to be a major undertaking that I have no desire to predawn and precoffee. So, came back to work and knocked on the door at the next department where they can actually hear someone knocking and someone did kindly let me in. so I ended up ten minutes late. Sigh.
But I like my outfit.

I work with background checks and the vendor we use relies more on the social security number than the name. If there are name differences they are listed but it doesn't mark that as a problem. Not sure if that is standard or not for all background checks.
That's very frustrating, -t!
Matilda was hard to rouse this morning and all are somewhat sluggardly.
I have to go to her school for a 10am meeting with the Principal and the Vice Principal because the creepy Evangelical recruiter who got kicked out is back at the school. This was not the school's decision but came from the District legal department so I'm trying to figure out what's the what.
While I've been strategizing on how to go outside the school process to apply pressure (social media, PTA, School Board, flyers and a megaphone) - I'm not that interested in this becoming the focus of my life. On the flipside, I'm going to be wroth if he is coaching soccer next year.
My kids did fine with the time change, I feel like my head is full of mashed potatoes. Gronkity gronk gronk gronk.
Ugh, David. I had hoped that saga was over. Hope it is solved without major efforts.
But I like my outfit.
This is everything. Mine is theoretically decent as my bits are covered, but I wouldn't want anyone outside my immediate family to see me. Not awful, just flannel inside pants and a t-shirt.
