Day two of WhimsyCon (steampunk/costuming). So many amazing outfits. I've been busy and unable to take pictures - but WOWOWOWOW!
K-Bug and grandkid are here, painting a Starry Night, and then they can add a geeky silhouette. I think one will have Batman.
We have a friend who sleeps in a hammock every night...in his apartment in NYC. He loves it and says it's cured all his back pain. He's done this for years. No trees in his studio apartment.
Suzi, that does sound fantastic.
But stll, it would be possible to make up for lost time, right?
Of course! We never see our neighbors in the winter (save for shoveling).
We found a couch. This perfectly nice, ridiculously wealthy young family is redoing their basement, so they're selling their 2nd couch for $75. It's a microsuede full-length, plush, fully reclining sofa.
Guys, I was thinking we were gonna have to drop $400-$600 to get a decent sofa, and I would have paid $400 for this sofa and I'm pretty darned excited about it.
And I got a crazy-solid butcher's block that will extend my kitchen counter space by 5 feet and has weirdly perfect dimensions from a different wealthy older lady for $50.
My bargain kismet was on fire today!!
Way to go, Strix!
My nephew got rid of his bed and hung a hammock in his bedroom for years. He recently switched back to a mattress but he isn't completely sold on it.
Is that The Bristol with 2 places in KC? That's where Maria and I had their amazing Sunday brunch. Which is well worth it.
That's the one, Strix. Their food is awesome.
Good going, Strix!
I just re-joined OK Cupid for the first time in years. I've been trying a couple of apps, but they are both the kind where both people have to agree to make the match, and honestly, I just reject everyone up front. So I'm willing to see who comes to me.
Seconding the recommendation for Bristol's. Their crab cakes stand up to anything I had in Maryland.
