Oh hey!
Mac is going to be gone 3/10 evening through 3/15 afternoon if anyone needs a short boring vacation with a free place to stay. I'll still be working, so house would be yours during day.
Timelies all!
I don't remember the Gerund War. I probably skipped and skimmed the posts. (Either that or it was in a thread I don't read.)
OH msbelle, if I was independently mobile, I'd love a change of scenery - even if I ended up just working from you place.
For now, my big change of scenery is being upstairs vs downstairs. I even went down and back up by myself today!!! Pathetic, but I'll take it.
I'll be in Ft. Lauderdale at a conference for half of those days.
Ft. Lauderdale!
I'm there for the USITT conference at the convention center. Hotels were crazy expensive by the time I could commit to going so I'm staying with Pix's dad in Plantation.
I'm up for a part-time job that might pay well. With like, regular hours and stuff like that! And I could still drive for Lyft around it pretty easily!
Lyft operates an offsite Help Desk/Info Booth in the Watertown Mall, and they're opening a similar one in the Natick Mall (which is a bit upscale for them, but whatever) so I'd be there to answer questions, help people apply and generally be helpful. Pay is $18/hr, so it would be decent money even for part-time.
I felt the need to share this somewhere because I'm kind of excited by the thought of non-driving work at this point. Crossing fingers!
I have a Lyft question! How do I pay for a ride? I am extremely reluctant to do any actual payment type things from my phone.
Go, Theo! Good luck!
I think I remember reading the Gerund War but don't thank no I took part. And if it was on WX I think I just lurked. So I can just be gerund agnostic.
OTOH I fully support msbelle's sabbatical and bemoan my inability to vacay down that way. So very impractical for so many reasons, but tempting nonetheless.
