Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

The most Buffista post by a person who is not a Buffista goes to my friend A --

You know you're a nerd when you're playing Words with Friends, and you get mad because "Kree" isn't a word, and you're like, "But they're the alien race that..." and you catch yourself because you realize it's a proper noun. And it's fictional. And I probably could have stopped this post after 11 words.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Yeah, A— When I play Word Cookies, I always, always, always try both orc and roc when presented with those letters. (And they are never part of the puzzle.)

That's hilarious, Vortex.

I was supposed to do dinner with a friend I haven't seen in a bit, but she canceled and said could she just come over later, she had work to do. And it's almost 8pm and I...may go to bed soon. Wtf self. But then I'm out of town for work, and then on vacation! Boo.

Punishingly Intricate

Seeing what executives get to get reimbursed for (or just send the bills to be paid by the company) has made me really bitter about this stuff.

Yup. And that's why I took a Lyft from the Oakland Airport into SF today rather than BART.

Also, what Nanita said. So very true.

Our wings are not tired.

how expensive it is to be "not high income" in this country.

So true. Every time I want to give up having my own business and go to work for a paycheck I remember I write of my internet, my cars, my insurance, and so much more.

Ha! My SIL forced me to play this game recently, and this is so true. Also my medical background is more of a help than you would think. Not really a game player, but trying new things, brain exercise and all that. I find my self in a fierce battle not with people but with that silly lightning bolt that keeps telling me I am missing something. Not sure how long this thing will last, but Words!, and something that I can do in between work tasks while waiting for queries to run. Who knew you could teach this old dog new tricks.

And that is why I don't care about using hotel laundry service when I'm traveling for work! Same with taxis. No, I am not going to navigate public transport in a country where I don't speak the language.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

My in-laws discovered the existence of dog agility this weekend by accidentally seeing it on TV, and they are blown away by this new thing.

It's hella fun, and the dogs have even more fun than the people.

I ended up at the emergency vet last night, whee, and so I'm $600 down. Here's hoping the antibiotics do a good job (the Boss has a big infected cyst in her belly), but at the moment she's not eating much and very low energy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oy, Consuela! Quick healing to the Boss.

Matilda came home early from school with a fever and a sore throat.

Couldn't find the thermometer at first but after I put my hand on her forehead I said, "About 101, but a little higher."

Found the thermometer: 101.4.

Yeah, I've been doing this since 1996.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Yeah, I've been doing this since 1996.
