I just can'tt. I have no can.
The person I asked for ~ma for, went to her PCP today. Doc says she looks fine, all the reported symptoms of the last two weeks are consistent with having the flu, she's better, send her to her day program tomorrow. I let myself get so optimistic that I told the staff member I had lined up to stay with her during the day tomorrow to go ahead and make other plans. And then just now I got a call from the house, she threw up and fell out of bed.
I can handle two steps forward, one step back as a trajectory for recovery from illness. But by Grabthar's Hammer the next I accompany this person to the ER they will admit her and keep her until they take this shit seriously and figure out what in blue bloody blazes is wrong and fix it, or there will be brains splattered on their walls. (Whether from my head exploding or theirs, I can't say.)
Dear docs, don't cross Windsparrow.
TJs had Irish soda bread today, so I'm doing laundry, catching up on interwebs and nibbling on bread. It's an exciting life I lead.
My in-laws discovered the existence of dog agility this weekend by accidentally seeing it on TV, and they are blown away by this new thing.
It is pretty awesome.
It's my last day in Vallejo. Super weird. So much to do to leave things as I found them!
I wish I could be confident that today was my last day of deciphering documents that someone has emailed to a third party who printed them out and then scanned to get them to me.
I just got the requirements for working from home in the next big storm instead of taking a day off because I choose not to be a traffic statistic. It should be easily doable, and I'll join the 21st century. The odds of another bad storm are slim this close to spring, but winter has been starting later and later the last few years, so it's good to have this option. And I can work in my slounging clothes! Or have Phryne Fisher on in the background (it would be chat support, because they won't plug private phones into the network).
Are they gonna subsidize your internet?
No, but using it for work wouldn't affect my use costs. If I was home I'd be on the net anyway.
Yeah, but it goes from something you choose to have for your own reasons to something you have to have to do your job.
Shrug. Seeing what executives get to get reimbursed for (or just send the bills to be paid by the company) has made me really bitter about this stuff.
I am sorry we didn't make plans!
Np, it would have been difficult to find time anyhow.
Something broke today (not customer facing) during a push to production so now I'm in a bar trying to fix it.
