It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Boss just asked me to cut the list of invitees for my leaving drinks to 30 people. I've managed (painfully) to get it down to 66. Leaving drinks parties almost NEVER get more than a 30% response rate (and I'm well-liked but not THAT popular) so I think he should just invite that list and play the odds, but grandboss is worried about $$. Blargh.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I don't think we're going for the pool house. We saw a place yesterday that's 3 minutes from our current house, with everything we wanted, 3B/1 BA (nice long, deep old tub) except a fireplace, in a quiet, friendly cul-de-sac. Great backyard. Hardwood floors. Good storage and counter space in the kitchen. Lovely older man landlord. And it's $275 less than our current place which is a freaking STEAL for such a cute house in this neighborhood. And it comes with a W/D so we won't have to shell out $500 to get a new set.

Cross fingers!!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, really Jess? That kind of expense awareness just strikes me as silly.

Oh, that sounds great, Strix! Good luck.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, good luck, Strix.

That just seems incredibly shitty. I'm sorry.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

So Alfred is basically now Batman's tech support instead of his butler?

That's the modern butler's role, wine and tech support.

Woohoo, payroll has confirmed I donot need to punch the timeclock any more. Hooray!

That sounds great, Strix.

It's really obvious where Joss' humor is shoe-horned into the movie.

It's so stupid. Anyone I cut from this list is going to be invited anyway as a plus-one from someone on the list, because I'm 100% sending out a follow-up email to the original invitation saying "Please feel free to bring along anyone I forgot", and in reality, historically, leaving drinks for middle managers like me are NOT out of control ragers. Like maybe 40 people will show up, and of those, most will leave after one drink to catch their train.

That sounds like a good plan, Jessica. Also, if I were able to teleport I would totes crash that party!
