Simon: I'm trying to put this as delicately as I can... How do I know you won't kill me in my sleep? Mal: You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Coding and Sleeping

Well, I didn't have on glasses. It was my biggest device though :)

Thrive to spite them

I tangled with my NC General Assembly rep.

I even listed some of my ideas things like: licensing for all guns. Extensive background checks and waiting periods. Gun safety courses in order to get a license. Not an hour thing but extensive multi day ones. No private sales of guns where background checks can't be done.

I can't remember what else..oh banning anyone who has convictions of domestic abuse, child abuse or violent crimes from gun ownership. Also stiff penalties for those who let children get their guns and kill people lile a toddler accidentally shooting someone. It was pointed out that Nc has a law about minors and guns but it's a Class 1 misdeamoner with a max penalty of 120 days on jail and a fine.

He told me he respectfully disagrees.people should be able to protect themselves.

But what I proposed doesn't prevent that.

He is anti choice because he said he values kids lives but doesn't value life enough to change existing laws.

I couldn't sleep last nught between that, my teeth clenching and Penny accidentally escaping. Or mayve she just disappeared in the house . I saw her inside this morning after mom was up . I'm running on 2 hours of non consecutive sleep and have 3 more hours before I can go home .

I'm rambling and tired and I had a mini meltdown this morning.

Oh and one of the shooter' s family members said in an interview he was diagnosed with autism so many people in my FB groups are worried about what this will mean the backlash.

brillig

I would happily get a license for my gun--Utah, land of a weapon for every wardrobe choice--and I'd give it up if required. However, Cabela's, a gigantic sporting goods store, is having a 2nd Amendment sale this weekend, proudly advertised on the radio. I hate advertising and I'm so glad I didn't go into that field.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Reports are now coming in that the shooter was a member of a violent white supremacist group as well.

I have no suggestions, only sadness.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I wish you all could take advantage of the glorious distraction that is the conversation on my local NextDoor site, started with a simple question: "Is fluoride bad?"

That's weird...there's a guy on *my* NextDoor group about a month ago who brought up a huge debate on the same topic!

Guys, we looked at a house with a pool last night. I loved it, but $1K a year for pool maintenance...does this seem accurate, pool people? It covers opening and closing the pool, all chemicals snd maintenance. I'd just have to skim, check Ph and add chems when needed. I pay $200/summer for a family membership at our local pool, but I'd live in the pool all summer and have friends with kids over a ton. It's got an amazing deck, a covered porch, and the house itself is great.

I need to make a practical, informed decision, even though my knee-jerk is FUCK YES GIMME THE WATER.

Our wings are not tired

That's less than $100/month, it doesn't seem out of line to me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I was told to expect more like $10k a year for a pool down here when we were looking to buy. Major reason we do not have a pool.

Our wings are not tired.

Here it is generally $90-100 a month for pool maintenance.

I napped much of the day. Emotionally exhausted.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I do worry about the world Mr. S is growing up in.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

That seems reasonable to me, Strix, for all the use and joy you'd get from having it.
