Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Keeping my head down and off of much of social media today. I don't need the reminders.

Good call. Take care of you.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Thanks, Tep and Epic. This little corner is just fine for me.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Being asleep soon after is one of the best parts of the Bloody Mary Breakfast Plan, Laura. Mmm, naps. Good luck with the house!

I did finally get coffee, everyone can relax on that front.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Nothing makes me more nervous than taking my kids to the doctor when there are nasties going around.

I'm still mad about the time I was visiting friends, and we had to take the kids to the doctor, and I ended up with pinkeye. The kids I was visiting didn't have pinkeye! I just picked it up at the doctor's office!

I'm also still mad about the time I was sick with a fever for two weeks (really sick), and the doctor said it wasn't the flu because the fever wasn't high enough! But I had been taking so much advil, who could actually say what the fever really was??

This is why I shouldn't get sick -- it just makes me mad!!

ION, my back spasmed so badly on Sunday that I wasn't sure if I should go to urgent care. I went to my chiropractor yesterday, I'm going back today, and my doctor prescribed me goooood muscle relaxers. And, when I emailed my boss to let her know I wouldn't be working yesterday or today and that I'd juggle things to make up the time (sick time when you've been placed on a PIP seems like a bad idea), she said just take the sick time, and she'd extend the end date of the PIP. Yay?

This month, man. Not a fan right now. Wasn't much of a fan of last month, either.

Coding and Sleeping

My travel arrangements are all done. It's good to have that all taken care of.

Ugh, sorry about your back, Atropa.

Thanks, Atropa. I'm sorry that it's all just too much right now, and I hope your back feels better soon.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I've been having the low-level ick with backache since the weekend. Never quite seems like enough to stay home, but definitely enough to make me want to.

Speaking of travel, we booked tickets for honeymoon in Ireland! But buying plane tickets is the worst. So much uncertainty and fiddly bits.

Oh jeez, Atropa. That sounds somewhat like what I learned in Onboarding training today -- people should not use sick time in their first 90 days, but if they are sick, they should.

Which makes me feel like I'm just a sucker for not taking my sick time when I don't get sick...
