Home and back to work-ish.
Speaking of ick, I don't know what I caught over the weekend but it was likely a combo of airplane-ick and smoke-allergy-ick. I'm coughing and have a stuffy nose but no fever. I sent a note to the surgical office asking if this is going to be an issue for surgery on Thursday and I got a response that it shouldn't be an issue. I really want to get my foot fixed and be on the road to recovery ASAP.
Ok, back to the grindstone.
I woke up this morning with red itchy eyes. It is NOT COOL for me to be suffering spring allergies when it is still also flu season. STAY IN YOUR LANE, NATURE.
Feel better Suzi and Jess and everyone
Coming back to work was a bad move. I got an email over the weekend that I would not be covering the front desk this morning, but then a note on my monitor this morning told me I was, so I rushed out here and have had to answer the phone 3 times already and haven't been able to get my coffee (have not found my coffee cup, for one thing) and my boss brought me a stack of invoices that need to be entered today because a quarter of our little department (that's one person, ftr) was out sick the whole time I was on vacation and is still out today. They did decorate my cube for me and I think gave a card or something but I have not actually been at my cube except to get the note that i needed to come to the front desk so that's kind of wasted effort....
In short, bah. And no Bloody Mary this morning.
Weird thing with this bout of influenza, the person I took to the ER did not have a fever. Me neither. I wonder if that is part of the "if you get your flu shot and you still get the flu, it may not be as bad".
Bloody Mary sounds like a very good plan. Except I would be asleep in about 2 minutes.
The sort of mini-flu that Husband and I think we got did not involve fever. Just periods of feeling like crap, mostly.
Coming back to work after vacation is the worst. They ought to let you ease your way back in over a few days.
Thanks, all. Pix and I do really need to celebrate together one of these years.
-t, that sucks. Not a very nice welcome back to the office.
Dana, I would love to develop the ability to strangle someone through the phone for that kind of comment.
Laura, some extra time is good news. I hope the marketing materials wow him and make selling the house a relatively painless process.
I hope everyone that is feeling icky feels better soon.
Keeping my head down and off of much of social media today. I don't need the reminders.

I've been thinking about you today, Maria. Love to you.

Good call. Take care of you.
Thanks, Tep and Epic. This little corner is just fine for me.
