Waiting sucks, Strix. I'm sorry.
Husband has reached the point of an in-person interview in Charlotte, so he has promptly lost his mind and decided that we need to get the house in sale-ready condition, so he is going around and dusting things and dealing with random home improvement projects.
Even though the plan would be for him to take a month or two and make REALLY FUCKING SURE he loves this job before we move again.
He just cleaned under the fridge.
He rented it to someone else. It was off the market 5 minutes after he emailed us.
...well, my scrubbing of the office floor WILL CERTAINLY BE THOROUGH. Fueled by RAAAAAGE.
Oh, Strix, that really is too much. If you really want to throw your rage at him, I'm sure a local news outlet would love to jump on that story.
Naw, we hadn't signed the lease because I sent it back and very nicely pointed out it was illegal in KS, and, as written, he would actually be in a much worse legal position than us if we signed it and anything happened, *he* would be totally liable.
Sigh. I've already got two appointments set up for showings this week, and one house is simply stunning, so it'll all work out. I just...ugh. Didn't need this right at this particular moment in time.
Rage cleaning is going really well though!! (Ow, my back!!)
All the things are crossed for you to find something even better, but I'm still mega @@ at that landlord. Like, no, dude, ditching the person who pointed out that your thing is illegal won't make it any more legal.
What amych said. Fie upon him, and crossing all the things for a great new place.
Oh god, Strix -- what a mess.
I'm sorry Strix. May a much better option happen quickly.
Amazing news -- Buddy ran on to the front steps while I was selling my old table and chairs (its own piece of good news),
and ran right back in!
Phew.
He is well aware what a good deal he has
