No, but there's alarms that will make you do math to prove you're awake before y'all stop. Of course, I realized I'm so bad at arithmetic that sometimes I got them wrong even when mostly awake!

Not javachik

I had an emergency root canal in November that was super painful. Sophia, better to do it, esp if you have dental insurance. When a tooth is pulled, unless the tooth opposite the void has a fake tooth to meet it, it'll get weak & sick (or something like that) just more $ down the line. For comparison, my uninsured RC through refilling the crown that was drilled through was almost $3K.

This pain control regimen worked great. Endodontist (and Dr. Google backed it up) this is better for dental pain than narcotics. I had to do a list to keep track. 24 hrs - 2 AM, 800 ibuprofen, with food, don't lie down for ~15 minutes. 4 AM antibio. 6 AM, 800 acetominiphen. 10 AM 800 ibu. Noon antibio. 2 pm 1000 aceto. 6 pm 800 ibu. 8 pm antiobio. 10 pm 1000 aceto. If you can get pain relief with 400 ibu, 500 aceto., better. I needed the max.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

msbelle, that's ridiculous. You should deduct the square footage of your bathroom as a home office! (Joking. Maybe.)

I had a bad dream last night that a buffista's spouse died unexpectdly, and am so happy to come here and see no sad announcement.

BTDT, got the door prize. I'm glad it's not true again.

That is a horrible notion, and proof that Satan is real.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gary mis-set the alarm last night.(set it to CD rather than alarm) Luckily we have a furry alarm clock so we woke up a couple minutes late, rather than hours.

(We have a pillow that says "There is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast". All too true...)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Aw, John Mahoney died. Played Martin on Frasier and the father in Say Anything. Such a great actor.

So sorry to hear that, he was awesome!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, no! I've worked with him. Man, Steppenwolf Theatre has been hit with a lot of loss the last year or so.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Just found Steppenwolf's post.

It is with our deepest sorrow that we share the news that ensemble member of 39 years John Mahoney passed away due to complications from cancer while in hospice care on Sunday. John was a beloved member of our Steppenwolf family who was known for his extraordinary kindness, generosity of spirit and quick smile. He performed in more than 30 Steppenwolf productions—from his breakthrough role in ORPHANS in 1985 to most recently THE REMBRANDT this past September. John's impact on this institution, on Chicago theatre, and the world of arts and entertainment is great and will endure. Our hearts go out to John and his family, and to our collective Steppenwolf family.

Tonight's opening night performance of YOU GOT OLDER has been cancelled. We are instead inviting all to gather in Front Bar this evening. All are welcome to join us.
