My daughter has been sleeping in later and later in the mornings, and I'm considering relaxing my No Shopping resolution to get her an alarm clock she can't ignore. Like one of those that jumps off the bed and rolls itself into a corner so you have to go find it to turn it off. Or the one that's a mat on the floor that won't go off until you stand on it for a full minute.

The other option would be to take away her reading lamp and all of her books so she actually gets to sleep at a reasonable hour, but I don't want to punish her for being an avid reader, I just want her to get more sleep!

Every damn weekend. Sigh. The people who live on the island must be super annoyed. In general it seriously disrupts business and general life in countless ways. I have pilot friends (who voted for him) that live in an airport community and can't fly their planes anymore on weekends.

Yeah, it's an OSHA issue which is why if it's out for a whole day or multiple hours I work from home. Today it was only to be out for 30 min, but then a part was needed..... it's beyond ridiculous. The solution is thousands of dollars that no one wants to spend right now since we are to get new office in a year and they want to roll the costs into that project. This is a new issue started less than a year ago.

I went back to bed; actually I didn't get up until 8. I just didn't have it in me.

I suspect I have some mild depression after the catastrophes of the last few years. It's not bad, but every once in a while I just don't wanna.

Anyway, I am up now, the dog is walked, and I am considering going to work or maybe going to the bank.

I skipped the whole sportsball thing by going skiing yesterday, which was lovely, and the traffic wasn't even a problem because everyone was home watching the game. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should schedule painters to come give me an estimate on Friday -- assuming there will be a shutdown and I will be off work.

Still no root canal. I have to see an endodontist for evaluation and then the procedure. Which is all sorts of phone calls and stuff I hate. On the upside, the pain is getting better and the dentist is nice. I need two fillings as well, but he thought it wasn't too bad for not seeing the dentist since 2007. But off to call the endodontist

Jessica do you have an old phone (or does she have one) that could do one of the apps? There's ones where you can have to scan a barcode and keep that far away?

Me, I have had the mildest cold (like, a bit of runny nose, a cough or two here and there, feeling all yesterday like I had a lump in my throat) but this morning I have almost no voice. It's all bad-trying-to-be-sexy sounding. Not good for teleconferences!

She has an old phone of mine that she uses as a tablet, but I don't allow it at night. I think I might give her the Echo Dot that's in my room and set the alarm to go off every ten minutes from 7-7:30!

I had a bad dream last night that a buffista's spouse died unexpectdly, and am so happy to come here and see no sad announcement.

Dreams are weird. Generally mine are either boring as fuck, or sad/stressful.
