So strangely, we discovered last year that all of the restaurants around us closed when the Super Bowl was on, which put a dent in our plans to eat something.
This year, we have prepared for that, but I'd like to go to Trader Joe's, and I don't know if grocery stores close too. I mean, I wouldn't think so, but I wouldn't have thought that restaurants would close.
Where were you living last year?
Here? Dallas.
Edit: But it's not a Texas thing, because it was never an issue in Houston.
I've got white chicken chili simmering in my 20+ year old crock pot. And yes, I am caught up on a certain tv show.
Sleet this morning and now rain and it's juuust above freezing. I'm not going anywhere tonight. I decided to watch the Super Bowl but my sister hasn't told me who we're rooting for yet... luckily I don't care. I'm here for the commercials.
My best friend and his wife got me one of those ceramic microwave egg cookers for Christmas and it's vastly upped my egg consumption. Not boiled, of course, but cracking a couple of eggs into it and cooking for about 1:40 gets me one of those round egg mcmuffin patties.
I used to just do that in a little glass bowl when I had a microwave. Super convenient!
My mother did the wings trick with the baking soda and they were fab! She didn't do the Full Kenji, even.
I just deep dove Janet Jackson videos for halftime and... um
Accidentally ended up at Zendaya and Tom Holland's lip synch battles because it's not my fault but I'm still ok with it.
Go sportsball.
Dana hope you figured it out, but TJ's doesn't close here, that's for sure--though it was a MADHOUSE beforehand, I'm betting it's empty now.
Naturally, after I insisted that the restaurants were closed, the Thai place that husband insisted on was open. Just to spite me. And then we went to TJs.
Laura, next time you're peeling pre-boiled eggs, run them under cold water while you peel. The water gets between the egg white and the shell and the shell slips off without you having to carve it out of the egg white.
