The last time I did HB eggs, I did whatever Kenji Lopez-Alt says to do on Serious Eats, and it really worked.
Hot start! That's what I do, too, and it works every time. (I make hard-boiled eggs every Sunday for the upcoming week, because I need the extra protein with my breakfasts.) No bits of egg stick to the shell. It's brilliant.

Mmmmm, deviled eggs: [link]
I won a drawing for a Super Bowl party pack at work. I left it for the folks at the house I work at to enjoy - a $25 gift certificate for pizza isn't exactly a friend to me right now. I hope they have fun with it.
Normally I use the drop in into boiling water thing and this time I did the bring to a boil and take them off the heat. Never again. It is going to be egg salad, higher percentage of yolk for all the white stuck to shell. May have to add an avocado. Anyway, if they want deviled eggs they have to go to TJ's and buy me pre-boiled and shelled ones!
That's great, and really win-win, WindSparrow.
Yeah, I love knowing they are going to have a treat today.
Food Lab agrees, BTW. [link]
Laura's watch and post food prep continues. Egg salad was made, but avocados weren't ready so I added black olives and sun dried tomatoes for a Mediterranean flair. Was pretty tasty with added black pepper on top.
I don't think I have seen any commercial previews for this game. Of course I haven't really watched any tv either, so not too surprising.
