I spent last week covering for a person on my one project, and now this week I'm covering for someone on my other project. Busy busy. But just got some possible good news about personnel changes so yay that.
Consuela you're making croissants from scratch?! Dang.
Yeah, that is super impressive and an excellent use of a furlough/sick day.
Hello peeps!
Today is the first day of my "real" schedule. On the main circ desk on my own.
And look: we get to play on the interwebs.
Strangely, they prefer that we do that to reading. Apparently the library BoT doesn't like to see library clerks reading.
All jobs are strange . . . aren't they?

I think I'm on my fourth fold of the pastry, I can't keep track. It's strangely soothing. I also changed my sheets and vacuumed. I should do some laundry and go to the hardware store but I'm lazy.
Exercise was cancelled & then I got super busy. And then I got what I'm guessing is a visual migraine & couldn't read the screen so well, so I came home. It's getting better, but still feels pretty weird. At least the strobing has stopped. I've had them happen before, but never when trying to read a screen. Really brought out the full impact.
Still in the Hamilton queue. I still have 26,126 people ahead of me. at this rate my turn will be in 9.5 hours. Le Sigh. I'm assuming I'll get notice it is sold out, but I'm hanging in the queue just in case others give up in droves.
Cali Chrome's first baby!
Foal Patrol is disappointing me today: nothing but empty fields.

Laminating dough by hand is hardcore!
No more bakery for me. Except possibly a few hours a week doing some admin stuff until she finds someone to replace me, or figures out how she wants to allocate tasks. Which is fine with me -- the new schedule gives me five weekday mornings until almost 2 p.m., so I'm planning to utilize the Y more regularly and also write at least an hour every day.
Not flu, says the weird urgent care doctor, just general sinus/upper respiratory badness, as usual. Whatever it is, I feel like death.
Congratulations, Jess! I hope this gives you some breathing room and a light at the end of the tunnel.
Sara, ugh. The uncertainty sucks.
Edit: WOO HOO AMY! That is wonderful.
Why yes, I started typing this at 9 am this morning and just now hit post. And missed a bunch of news evidently.
