Yay new job Amy!
I'm on my couch in sweatpants, babying my cold and periodically rolling out and folding dough for croissants.
It does look like there's going to be some kind of deal this afternoon, so I'll probably be back to work tomorrow. I think.
Timelies all!
So I am on furlough, though I went in today because I wasn't sure of my status. The OPM website said check with your agency, my agency said the Clinical Center was open, but gave another link to check. Other link directed me back to OPM. Went in, helped out a little in the blood core until more people came in(and found that I'm not the only one confused about their status), checked my e-mail to find I am indeed on furlough, and went home.
In other news, our water heater has a leak somewhere, so the valve is shut off except when we need to shower.(Basically, no hot water if valve is shut off) Joy.
Yay new job, Amy!
I overslept terribly this morning, but when I checked my email, nobody needed me for anything, so my lingering cold and I are staying in bed for a while. *cough*
I spent last week covering for a person on my one project, and now this week I'm covering for someone on my other project. Busy busy. But just got some possible good news about personnel changes so yay that.
Consuela you're making croissants from scratch?! Dang.
Yeah, that is super impressive and an excellent use of a furlough/sick day.
Hello peeps!
Today is the first day of my "real" schedule. On the main circ desk on my own.
And look: we get to play on the interwebs.
Strangely, they prefer that we do that to reading. Apparently the library BoT doesn't like to see library clerks reading.
All jobs are strange . . . aren't they?
Consuela you're making croissants from scratch?! Dang.
I think I'm on my fourth fold of the pastry, I can't keep track. It's strangely soothing. I also changed my sheets and vacuumed. I should do some laundry and go to the hardware store but I'm lazy.
Exercise was cancelled & then I got super busy. And then I got what I'm guessing is a visual migraine & couldn't read the screen so well, so I came home. It's getting better, but still feels pretty weird. At least the strobing has stopped. I've had them happen before, but never when trying to read a screen. Really brought out the full impact.
