hip deep in pie

I went to a rally briefly and then to the supermarket, where I bought everything to make lentils.... except the lentils! Luckily, it's all stuff that will keep.

After a great internal debate about whether I really needed to leave the house again, I went to the grocery store and when I got to the checkout, I realized I left my wallet at home. I should have just stayed in!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Staying in is always the answer!

....even though I'm about to go to the movies. That's practically the same as staying in, though.

ION, I'm so pleased: I called out someone on the internet for downplaying race as a factor in a thing, and they said, "You're right." OK then!!

I went to dog class and then came . home and napped for 2 hours. Lovely.

Now off to see my niece play hockey and maybe have Thai food with my brother.

I've been pretending I might not watch it, but I just set my DVR to record The Resident, which does not look good per se, but Matt Czuchry, Emily Van Camp, AND Melina Kanakaredes??

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I was worried not many people would show up for the March today, but it looks like there are tens of thousands of people in the streets.

Big turnout in SF. Bigger than last year (which started late, in the rain, and ran into the dark). This year they started at 2 pm and it was a blue sky day. People were very focused on the mid-term elections, but also lots of signs about MeToo, DACA, Healthcare, LGBTQ rights and visibility, BLM.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Nashville had a good turnout too. The organizers are estimating 15K, not much lower than last year. Rose made her own sign (My Body My Choice) and was very proud to show it off. We ran into some friends, the weather was lovely, and it was great to see so much energy in the crowd.

Not bigger than last year, I don't think, but definitely still a great turnout in Seattle.

I read two books this afternoon, did not go to the gym or make dinner other than reheating leftovers. But when a friend called and invited me to play board games in an hour I whipped together a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to bring over.

Tomorrow no plans but I may go see a movie in the morning. Depending on how my morning goes. I'd rather see the 10am showing but that one is $12 and the 1115 is $6 (different theaters)

It lacked only Gary Coleman being wheeled in on a gurney muttering "What'chu talkin' 'bout, Batman?"
