Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Well, then. I won't know until midnight Sunday whether I have to be at work at 7:30 Monday!

Yikes.

The NPR Politics podcast had a live show last night, and they opened with a question from the audience: Do I have to go to work on Monday?

I have a thing, I think it's a Chrome extension

If you remember the name, let me know.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

More research showed that desk jockeys are really only good for 5/6 hours. Brain work takes more out of you than physical work

Hard to believe, but probably true in some ways.

I work a 9-hour day most days in order to get the 10th day off, and I suspect I'm more productive at the end of the day than the beginning.

Today I'm off, so I went to get my blood test at Kaiser (I'm hoping to have a big drop in my cholesterol from being at altitude for 9 days), and stopped at the store for groceries. Now I want a nap, but it's only 10 AM.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'd like to have that schedule, I think, Consuela. Having a time during business hours to run errands would make mylife so much simpler, and while I do think 8 hours is kind of too long, 10hours is not much longer, if that makes sense.

It is an Extension and it's called "Micro Breaks": [link] Suzi

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am doing extremely tedious online training modules so I can qualify to be a substitute teacher. It's very hard to concentrate, since there are guys all over the property! The two guys renovating the upstairs bathroom have been joined by two more guys, who have started taking down the useless chimney which runs down the middle of the house. Meanwhile, there is a ginormous crew who are replacing the roof on the barn. We budgeted for the bathroom before we moved in, but not the 15k reproofing, sadly. Had to be done though.

Still, lots of people! Doing things! And machines and hammering and ladders and and clomping around! It's hard to concentrate on "Concussions in Schools: Prevention, Control, Treatment."

That would definitely not be conducive to tedious training! (As important as concussion prevention is....) But probably is conducive to living in the house in the long run.

Our wings are not tired

My work is a very strange mix between being at a desk behind a computer, in a studio, on the road, working on a construction site, and sitting in meetings usually away from the office.

I didn't know that was a side effect. How did you handle the altitude? Living at sea level it is quite a shock when I visit high places. The last time I went I super-hydrated and that seemed to completely eliminate the headaches, which was awesome. My body still thinks there is no air though, zero stamina. Bodies!

Thanks -t, it has been loaded!

I'm working volunteer management for a small con this weekend. It is called HexaCon and is all about gaming. Role playing games, card games, board games... The game library is HUGE! It is the first year for this con and they have had 200 registrations so far. Not too shabby.

Do you have headphones? DH uses his beats when he needs to concentrate.
