What you said, Dana. Also I laughed and laughed at Sports Illustrated's pictorial of "athletes who are the same height and weight as Trump". Man.

I totally think people can talk about the obvious lie about his weight without it being called fat shaming.
Then again I think shows and books can have homophobic and sexist and bigoted characters without the shows or books being any if those things which seems beyond belief to some.
Ugh. In keeping with the comfort in/dump out rule of the ring theory, I have to dump that I spoke to my boss today to let him know that I might need extra time over the next few months to visit my mom and help support her while she was supporting my brother, and when I mentioned the diagnosis he just got a blank polite look that read to me as, "I am thinking, 'oh, shit,' but I am not going to say it out loud."
If you work for doctors, typically when a friend or family member gets diagnosed with something, anything, they have questions about when the diagnosis was made and where they're going and whether their specialist has talked to so and so at Mayo or Johns Hopkins or Boston Children's or wherever, and just speak up if you want referrals. This time, nothing. Just the polite look. And now I'm more freaked out than I was before.
Which I did not say to my other brother when I called him just now, because he's much closer to Baby!Brother than I am and he is already more freaked than me. So I'm dumping here.
I don't even need an answer, I just needed to dump.
(Also, yeah, the weight is not the issue, it's that the presidential physician appears to have gone on record with a ridiculously obvious lie.)
~ ma to JZ and Beverly, and everyone else who needs it.
Or the, "I'm really sorry, man. So, what's the plan on treatment?"
"Well, I talk to the palliative care folks tomorrow."
I'm so sorry, JZ.
But yes, people, thanks really a lot for letting me dump a little here so I can go be normal and upbeat and supportive.

I am so sorry JZ. That seems forboding.
brief meara because I was far behind
There's an absolute ant jamboree in the next two cubes, where the residents left crackers and honey sitting out.
Ewww! Living in a bug's delight habitat I learned very early to never leave anything out. Everything that comes in a box or bag gets put into plastic containers. It's a constant battle. but seriously the only reason to leave crackers and honey out is if it is spiked with poison!
JZ, I am so sorry about your brother's grim diagnosis. It is often harder to watch loved ones struggle than to deal with our own strugges. FWIW, there are lots of people that beat the odds and statistically there still is that big ole curve. I'm still stunned at the recovery of my friend/employee that had stage 4 breast cancer. Spoiler font for ick details the tumors had broken through outside her skin and internally through her lung and she is perfectly normal now. Went from under 100 pounds to 140 living life. Sending so luch love and ~ma to you and yours.
My father was honored at the city MLK Day thing this morning, which was nice.
Beautiful to see this recognition.
{{Beverley}} Petty and pouty are not words I would use to describe your legitimate feelings. I'm sorry that you and H are dealing with so much.
Lastly, yes flea's mom is crazy, but I laughed at the crazy! It reminded me of Sophia being a special niece. People! You are watching too much Dr. Phil or something.
Good morning! My son is sleeping on my couch so I was noisier than usual making my coffee and breakfast this morning, because I am practicing my passive aggressiveness. Good luck with that, me.
I read about flea's mom, and laughed, I just forgot to share that I found it crazy! I am more likely to think "oh, of COURSE it is the woman who is taking care of the RSVP's" and get a little disgruntled for no reason because it has nothing to do with me
I have been thinking about some things that annoy me out of proportion to how much they affect me or how important they are- like our cleaner (and several other people) shut off the lights in the common areas and offices. They are automatic lights people!!! They turn themselves off! And I can barely see in the kitchen and bathroom- AND when I enter my office I have to put everything down so I can switch the lights on. They are automatic-- I repeat automatic!
Also, I hate when people call to ask about our nursing program for other people. We don't accept anyone who is coming directly from high school- they are either RNs already or have a bachelor's degree and I judge husbands who call and mothers and dads, but not quite as harshly. I have never had a wife call.
Anyone else have weird annoyances?
I have one: my sister gets into my stuff whenever she visits. Last time she picked up DH's wallet and poked into it. Claimed she just hadn't seen a minimalist one like that. I didn't say anything but I was quite annoyed.
