Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

lisah, jump in please, if you can.

I'm so disappointed, Glam. I'm sorry.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Congratulations, Callaluna!

I'm lucky in not having family nearby--or on FB. I wish those of you who do well. I do know that I've walked away from unproductive circular discussions and just gotten to work. A lot of time I'm not missed, some of the time I'm looked at like I'm crazy (so used to that), and some, rare times, I'm followed.

We do what we can.

Our wings are not tired.

Ugh I only see stuff my friends post or like there so I've been shielded from that content, GC.

I have missed the discussion for the reason above. Oh GC, I am so sorry you are encountering this ignorance and lack of compassion. I honestly do believe the younger generation is so much more enlightened. With 20 somethings and teens around me with the kids and the coaching I don't see the hatred and bigotry I see in the older generations. It keeps me hopeful when so much is so horrible.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm well and truly devastated. Those attitudes are all over Pantsuit Nation and it doesn't feel like a welcoming, supportive place at all for me anymore. I'm done.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I ran across this - possibly the best science job ever.

Warning - contains videos of rats (for those of you who have issues)

"It's the weirdest job ever, tickling rats professionally," animal physiologist Shimpei Ishiyama told Smithsonian magazine.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Sorry, Glam. I'm not on FB right now so I can't see the argument. Even if you didn't convince everyone, I'm sure there are people reading along and nodding their heads. There's Bitches for Hillary, which is explicitly feminist and aiming for intersectionality, but, um, it's not Sanders friendly because it started as a safe space from Bernie Bros.

That ad is cute but the song is giving a major sad right now.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Callaluna, so happy for you! That's excellent news!

living on a boat

Oh, cool.

Yay for fun times with New Boy, Amy!

Glam, fuck, you'd think that would be a place where you'd be understood and welcomed. That's disappointing. But please don't think it's all over, it's not over. We're all still here and we love you, never mind them - it's not your job to change their minds.

I'm trying hard to focus on work and not think about the world. I just get angry and anxious and overwhelmed, and then I can't be present in my own life. I can and will confront hatred whenever I encounter it, but I'm not emotionally suited to being a loud and continually engaging activist. I can donate money and lend my voice to those who are, but at least at this point on my life, I can't march and argue and engage with strife and hatred on a daily basis.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Everything is exhausting and depressing.

I did just have Indian food for lunch, at a cafe about 3 minutes away. I will be visiting there often.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congratulations, Callaluna! Much new life~ma to you.

Amyth, I also have no Thanksgiving dinner plans, and I'm super convenient. Would you like to join me? I was planning on cornish hen(s), stuffing, asparagus, gravy, and maybe trying this cranberry curd tart recipe that's been in my notes for months.

Glam, I haven't been on FB much, and, hence, in the Pantsuit nation group, since the election. I'm sorry they're being such blindly privileged jerks about your obviously legit concerns.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I can't pull myself up out of despair.
