Well, the canyon where is our house is located is now under mandatory evacuation due to the potential for severe flooding and mudslides. It looks like our house SHOULD be safe. We are scheduled to move in this weekend.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ugh. Sounds like with beauty comes danger.
That could be the tagline for most of Southern California.
Ah, nature . . . AUGHHHH! NATURE!!!
All outside Christmas is down. Wreath is drying before it can be stored. Inside Christmas will stay up until I'm motivated to take pictures (where did we put the frammis and the lighted whodad last year? Did we even use the lollat?), and then do the tetris necessary to get everything in boxes.
Fireplace dvd continues to be cozy. And cleanup-free.
Timelies all!
I am being earwormed with the theme songs for "Nature Cat" and "Ready, Jet, Go!" I guess that's what I get for letting Mr. S watch PBS Kids.
I hope you and Pix can get into your shiny new house soon, ND.
Ugh, insurance wrangling. I hope you can get it resolved soon, Dana.
I took my cat to a cat cardiologist today to check on a weird heartbeat. The cardiologist agrees that the heartbeat is weird, but all the scans and whatnot show heart and lungs being perfectly fine. He even has good blood pressure (not that I know that was a worry before). Anyway, this was the best of the possible outcomes, so I'm pretty relieved.
I drove 45 minutes to get the new radio out of the wrecked car today. I've got all the info needed to sign the title over to them and then in 2 days should have $3100 deposited in my bank. So that should all get done this week.
I think I am going to start cleaning out a hall closet and get more stuff to Good will and get Christmas stuff stored in that closet (it had been in the guest room closet, but that is my closet now).
Later this week I need to focus on selling some more stuff.
Slicker than snot out there. Bought it once coming back from the Y, probably won't even have a bruise, proving I still fall well.
Got word one of my main college profs is in home hospice, quickly declining.I haven't had any contact with the school in years, but he was an integral part of my college years, and a great teacher. He shepherded us through losing another beloved prof, one of the primary reasons I chose Guilford, the end of my freshman year. It just feels weird.
It just feels weird.
I'm still not entirely over the very sudden death of my major undergrad prof a year after I graduated, and that was 25 years ago. It's hard to overstate what a great teacher can mean to your life.
