I am at work but am hovering between numb depression and anxiety attack. The one-two punch of this election and my SAD kicking in, on top of coming to terms with needing to leave this job, has really messed me up. Then again, home is not the greatest place right now since my roommate and I are having friction.
Also no Tgiving plans. I usually go to my friend/mentor/boss' house, but he's leavng town and I'm not keen on spending time with him anyway. Something will come up, it always does. There's are lots of holiday orphans around here.
God, I feel useless. It's a really good thing I get validation from my other job.
Oh yes! Sorry to be all me me me. Lots of love to your family, Sail. Amy, glad there's a new boy in town. And much real estate~ma to Laura and DH.
Oh, computer, why do you claim that it will take 4.5 hours to unzip this file? I'm so confused. Edit: Oh, because I made a stupid mistake. That makes sense.
Sorry, smonster. Everything always seems to happen at once.
{smonster} wish you were closer. Any that can make the drive are welcome here for t'day. I am cooking. I wasn't going to, but I like to cook, so I will.
Congratulations, Callaluna!
Oh smonster. Hang in there, friend.
I will be working this Thanksgiving again, but that's always nice and dead. I had wanted it off, but I didn't say anything, and the bosses may have thought I wanted to work it the way I did the last couple of years. Ah well. I wouldn't be doing anything, anyway.
Last night I was finally in a place where I could put some TV on--thanks for the Elementary rec!--and pull out my knitting without feeling guilty. But now I need to buy a vacuum and get all the box outlines out of the carpet. I dislike plush carpet, it always looks like crap if you actually use it.
Feeling a little better. Listening to Extra Hot Great is helping. Thanks, everyone. Laura, that's very kind, but I don't think my car is up for that kind of drive any more.
One of the things I did on Saturday with my parents was order our Thanksgiving takeout from Whole Foods. We're doing a turkey this year. Dad is not even pretending that they are just getting it for me, he wants turkey. But mushroom gravy and vegan pumpkin pie, etc. And we are registered for the Nitro Turkey run that morning (and the Quarry Turkey run on Saturday to get the bonus medal). So those plans are made.
