Yay, Callaluna! I'm so happy for you.
I didn't call in sick, but I'm still not 100% sure I made the right call.
Also, it's looking likely that I'll be spending Thanksgiving by myself. My friends who usually have a bunch of us orphan-types over don't seem to be having their annual thing this year. I'm not too bothered by it, because my friends are having our 19th (!!!) annual Friends' Thanksgiving this Saturday, which is pretty awesome, and is the real holiday for me, but I am feeling a little extra-fragile this year. But then again, hanging out with the cat and eating Chinese and watching Captain America movies isn't such a bad way to spend the day, especially when I have to work the football game the next day.
ETA: Hooray for New Boy!
Congratulations on the fresh start, Callaluna!
Yay for Amy having good times!
Good luck with the house, Laura, that sounds like a smart thing to do.
amyth, I'm guessing this wouldn't work since you have to work the next day, but if there's any chance you feel like driving to Nashville for Thanksgiving, you are always welcome here!
Jesse, has the Miranda family's recreation of "Do-Re-Mi" made it to Good Stuff yet?
Oh Kate, I would love to so much, thank you! I miss you all like crazy!! But yeah, with the working the next day and everything...blah. If only I could beam myself to Nashville!
Really, it will probably be nice and restful. I am crazy busy before and after, I just got back from traveling, will be traveling in December and January, I have no shortage of friends and loved ones that I would love to see if I could make it work. It's just the idea of the day, more than the actual fact of the day. But I need to let that go and rest and relax!
However, I need to get back to see you all someday in the not-too-distant future.

What?! No!! Because it has not made it to my eyeballs yet!!
Hilarity. Sweetness and hilarity.

If you can turn it into a regular day of resting and relaxing, that should be good, right?
My mother keeps saying on Christmas day we should just stay in our pjs and make no plans, but I know she can't actually do it, because she wants to go to Mass in the morning and then there are some friends to see and my father, too, so after all of that it feels pathetic to have dinner just the two of us, in a way that it wouldn't if we just stayed home, IMO. So she invited her minister and we'll see who else.

Totally! In fact, I'll probably end up loving it.

So adorable!
