The cold weather gave me a craving for Guinness beef stew from the Irish pub down the street, and apparently also erased the knowledge that their food sucks. It's already disagreeing with me, and I suspect the next 24 hours may not be pleasant ones.
In a general sense, Guinness beef stew sounds amazing. Sorry this one is so disagreeable.

I am home. The trip was great. Brother & SIL had an impromptu dance party in the stereo section of Target that managed to semi mortify their newly 15 year old, plus a couple teen girls who had set off the music. The teen wars will be interesting.
Cats are happy to see me, but clearly are suspicious of my dirty laundry. Not my fault that my fav cat of my brother's 4, Savage, also loves me & my dirty laundry.
I need to go to bed, but am wired, per usual.
I read the book. finished it. One of the co-written Jennifer Crusie ones. Agnes and the Hitman. Cute, easy. finished it. Gonna stick with mysteries for a bit and clear out some of these trade paperbacks on my shelves.
It used to be amazing at this place, but anything not served in a glass has gone steeply downhill over the years. On the bright side, haven't yacked and after a several hour nap my stomach seems to have settled.
The funniest people at the airport last night were the LA people trying to explain the Boston weather to their children. "No, colder than freezing. Yes, that's a thing."
Hey, we LA people have to actively seek out below freezing weather, it doesn't just arrive. Also, we LA people, particularly those of us living in old houses, don't usually have central heating, or even much insulation, so whatever the temp outside the house will be pretty close to the temp inside it as well. Which means 40 degrees feels pretty dang COLD in the morning.
Which is just me saying, I get why the parents had to explain it, and why the kids were incredulous
