It used to be amazing at this place, but anything not served in a glass has gone steeply downhill over the years. On the bright side, haven't yacked and after a several hour nap my stomach seems to have settled.

The funniest people at the airport last night were the LA people trying to explain the Boston weather to their children. "No, colder than freezing. Yes, that's a thing."
Hey, we LA people have to actively seek out below freezing weather, it doesn't just arrive. Also, we LA people, particularly those of us living in old houses, don't usually have central heating, or even much insulation, so whatever the temp outside the house will be pretty close to the temp inside it as well. Which means 40 degrees feels pretty dang COLD in the morning.
Which is just me saying, I get why the parents had to explain it, and why the kids were incredulous
I just felt so bad for them! I mean, I didn't have gloves with me, but at least I was headed straight toward them.
Burrell, as a tropical person who's had 40s mornings this month, I feel you.
Timelies all!
It snowed here last night, but it was easy to brush off my car, and it's mostly melted now. Still, they are predicting highs in the 20s for the next few days...
Before we moved out here, we had to explain the concept of a "mud room" to our California born and raised friends. Their horrified looks were hilarious.
I've been watching the New Year's Eve prep in Times Square over web cams, and it's in the teens and twenties there. All the workmen are waddling around in puffy suits. I hope the performers are allowed to wear something warm tomorrow night.
It's amazing to me how much we acclimate to new climates. I definitely have very different reactions and feelings about heat and cold than I did all those years in New England. And my dad, who's lived in Florida the past five years, after a lifetime living in New England, now gets cold when it goes below 70.
