FWIW, I have found that insurance did better than Blue Book trade-in value when I had to do that.

msbelle, KBB may say $980 - $1820 but the insurer will deal with the actual cash value of the car (which is the price you would pay to buy the same year, make, model with similar mileage). Trade-in value is always lower than ACV. They will try and lowball you with the first offer. Counter them with the receipt for the new radio, and the maintenance records showing that regularly scheduled maintenance was performed promptly (if you have them.) Find similar cars in your area and show the adjuster how much it would cost to buy them. Your settlement should also include the taxes, tags and fees to get the new car on the road.
Worst case scenario, negotiate for your deductible so you net zero.
Excellent, Maria. I didn't even know you could counter offer. But the price they offered me seemed reasonable so I didn't look into it.
MARIA IS MY FAVORITE!!!
ok - replacement would get me net like $2K which would be nice.
Yay!
Whoa. msbelle, glad mac is okay, and glad you are okay, too!
I started driving at 15 and didn't have a car accident until I was 25. I backed a rental car into one of those concrete pylons at a gas station.
The holiday was nice, but I am exhausted. Glad I have most of the week off.
Timelies all!

Latest update! Probably not flu, but more likely a 24-hour GI bug. Which, again, we have all been exposed to. Hopefully, if it hits either one of us, it will wait until after tonight's plane flight home.
Did I mention that the cousin got here a day early because he messed up the schedule, and the in-laws were expecting him tonight, not last night?
It's almost over! Except for side-effects.
