Yay on the new non-burned house! I would suggest adding a fire feature to celebrate the circumstances: [link]

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I already have plans for a gas fire table on one of the decks.
Timelies all!
Congrats, Pix and ND!
Tomorrow we fly to Florida to visit my folks(and Gary's dad and stepmom) for the holiday weekend. Of course, their house is not exactly child-proofed, so Gary and I will probably spend a fair amount of time trying to keep Mr. S from causing too much havoc.
House!
I'm packed but for toiletries. Since gifts alone ($180 of lush bath bombs and 2 fancy sheet sets for SIL, plus locally purchased books-incl. a certain Wilde trilogy) came to 27 lbs, I'm taking advantage of SW's 2 checked bags and taking the monster and a duffle. Monster will be a little empty, but hopefully I'll just come back with one bag. The more reasonable suitcase, I might smush a bath bomb.
Congrats, Pix and ND!
I spent a lot of money today! Presents at Target for $100, gas, some stuff for my hair at Sallys, and then $130 (!!) at Goodwill--but half of that was stuff for my sister, who I was texting all "hey, do you want a new-with-tags Eileen Fisher pair of pants, they're not my size...." Clearly I have to go back to that Goodwill more often, way better stuff there than some of the other ones. Also had lunch, and tried to get an oil change but the guy at the one place was like "Our system is down" (??) and the other place was over an hour wait. So I gave up and came home and made candied orange peels. I want them to be done NOOOOOOOW, but they have to dry and then I want to dip them in chocolate.
Mmmm, candied orange peels are great! My upstairs neighbor makes them. Except instead of dipping them in chocolate she uses them in hot toddies and other winter drinks.
I keep thinking about taking some of the candied ginger I have and dipping them in chocolate (which I also have!) instead of just eating handfuls of each out of the packaging....
I spent $550 at Target yesterday. (We bought the Nintendo Switch, plus replaced the fancy electric toothbrush I somehow lost in the move.)
Just paid Real Estate and Property taxes. That wasn't much fun.
