before the internet, this would take months and probably over a hundred dollars.
So very true. And part of my concerns over the end of net neutrality. Sob.
I got a filling today that I don't have to pay for
Must be the time for free dental work. I had a gold crown put in last spring and it lasted about a month and came off. Since I was in NY and it didn't bother me I waited until a couple days ago to deal with it. Because I am a champion grinder the crown had a hole in it! They took a look at it and said they had made it too thin and were replacing it for free. So 4 hours in the chair putting in another temporary, since the last temp lasted less than 24 hours. Cool that they didn't blame me and are doing all this stuff free. (Yay Dental School)
Seems like the obvious moral to the story, Jesse. Might be best to stay away from cleaning entirely. To be sure.
I mean, better safe than sorry!!
Casper got a 61 on her Latin exam! It's a Christmas miracle! (She had a 52 for the second quarter, and her last 4 test grades in latin ranged from a high of 62.5 to a low of 20. That is, 20%.)
I deliberately chose an apartment complex that was a few years old rather than one of the several fancy brand new ones, because I figured the new ones are going to have surprises show up after a full cycle of seasons.
Yep. Getting into a 70+ year old building, I can at least be sure the basic construction is sound. Also, as it turns out, I like having layers of brick between me and shots being fired. Other people had to tell me about the recent gunfire directly behind my building rather than me hearing it myself and wondering what was going on.
Timelies all!
Cold here, and it snowed. Still, I'm settled in for the night.
Ha, I have to say the 'horse you rode in on' memes were most excellent.
I can empathize with Casper. Latin kicked my butt. I've never been particularly good at non-English languages, but for some reason Latin was especially hard.

Eek! I hope the teacher was grading on a curve??
Ugh, I have no Xmas spirit this year. Shopping today just Scrooginated away what little Xmas happy I had left. AND it gifted me with a migraine. I think it's going to be all baking, all the time this year. DH says he got gifts for people, so I hope he's taken care of it.
