It was poetry that dragged me seduced me into reading writers of color, primarily women: Lucille Clifton, Edwidge Danticat, Rita Dove, Naomi Shihab Nye, etc., etc. Jane Kenyon and Mary Oliver, too, and others. But while YA and fantasy and scifi brought women--Piercy, McCaffrey, Norton, McKinley, LeGuin, Cherryh and others into my life it was poetry that opened me up to POC.

3 eBay listings up. It's a little more challenging doing it on my phone, but I'm gonna get more done.
Dinner is going to be black bean, corn and green chile dump with queso on the side. No work.
Jesse you've read Dana Stabenow and Laura Lippman, yes?
Oh yeah. I have stacks of Lippman. Stabenow I've mostly read from the library.
It was a beautiful day here and I spent the afternoon in a laundromat because a cat decided to pee on the bed while I was cleaning the litter box.
I've kept my reading weighted toward women and POC for the last six years. Intentionally so for the last four.
So someone invited my mother to a grief workshop that is apparently about being a medium or whatever. I said it's in Florida in January, she should just go!
8 listings up now and pics taken for 6 more.
If I can keep this up, I might get a chunk of mac's old toys up and a bunch of yarn or fabric. Thus far this is clearing out the last of my Lularoe over buying from last year.
As is always the case, I wish I had another day in this weekend.
Hahahaha that's hilarious Jesse.
I kept trying to think it was more metaphorical, but no. Literally about talking to your dead loved one.
Someone put a flyer for psychic readings in my car door while I was at the movies today. A real psychic would have known not to waste paper that's just going to go in the trash.
She could go to Florida and skip the medium stuff to go the beach, I suppose.
