So I went out to the site today and wore a hard hat and carried the boxes to the bottom of a big pit, and watched an excavator very carefully pile gravel and dirt over them. And that is DONE. I'm so fucking relieved.
I would be out drinking a cocktail somewhere, except I'm afraid I caught the nasty cold that's going around (three coworkers and my niece have it), so I'm holed up at home with chamomile tea. I may make a hot toddy later...
There are still 14 days until Thanksgiving Eve. Why do I suddenly want to watch "Pangs"?
Ha! Cindy, I had just read that and thought about it being close to watching Pangs time!
FUCK CANCER always.
I endorse hot toddies whenever possible.
No funny syphilis for Consuela!
Laura, in my head, the part of Consuela is being played by the cultural exchange center curator who did not ripple nearly enough for Anya's liking.
smonster, maybe it's the syphilis talking, but that's where my head went.
SuziQ, I'm sorry to hear your family is going through this.
Burrell, congrats on your new position (and the trip to Hawaii).
Teppy, congrats on the Clark Gable dream.
That's pretty great, Consuela, on several levels. Well done you!
I'm sorry, Suzi.
There is a film crew starting to set up outside. And based on the parking notices they'll be here until 3am Saturday. I really hope they aren't doing loud night shoots.
ugh - I messed up $$ calculations for this month even with finding some old regular savings and I'll need to transfer money out of investment savings to cover all of the mandatory expenses. Paycheck just hit today and I will be withdrawn by the middle of next week if I pay the minimum on all credit card bills as well as all the regular bills on their due dates.
Hah, I'm so embedded in this that I missed the obvious Buffy connection!
I think the funny syphilis would have gone to the construction crews that dug them up years ago; Suela's the one putting them back to rest.
Wow Suela that's really interesting! But yes very Pangs related especially in November!
I am still in Japan but kinda ready for it to be over (we'll, ready to be home, not ready to go back to work!)
