Well done, msbelle!
The guy in my department who got laid off the same time I, uh, transferred (even HR has trouble referring to that smoothly) got asked back. This company certainly gives a good impression of having no idea what they are doing sometimes.
The pwoer has flickered off twice this morning. So that's fun.
Yay, I'm working Thanksgiving, with the day after off so I get a three-day weekend. Thanksgiving will be remarkably dead, and my co-workers who will be here are already planning their multi-player game. Maybe I'll actually write.
Is it crazy for me to think about applying to work nights/weekends for the holidays? The extra pay would go solely to paying off debt.
Updating my resume. Don't wanna.
Strongly considering going back to school. Am worried too old.
Can't words. Want nap. Halp.
I'm thinking about that, too, msbelle. It's tiring to work that much, but if it's short-term maybe okay? How would that work out with Mac?
Not too old, Jess. Nap sounds good.
Strongly considering going back to school. Am worried too old.
If I'm not too old, you sure aren't. And I'm going back to school even if it's the last thing I do.
I'm so sorry about Walter, -t. Love to you both.
Strongly considering going back to school. Am worried too old.
Ahem. Was 40 when I got my bachelor's, will be 50 when I get my masters. Never too old. Though, I WILL likely die with unpaid student loans, but that is what it is.
We have offers in play on two houses right now. In theory we might know today. Both of them are at the first counteroffer. With the market here in LA we know that we could get both of them, or just as likely lose both of them. We know on one house we are one of 11 offers, currently the leading offer, but we countered instead of just taking their terms, so who knows how it will end up.
Okay, just needed to get that out there. It's a lot to have hanging in the balance right now when I have a million other things going on.
Good luck, Noise.
Y'all. I'm printing things out so I can scan them. It hurts my soul. Or my spleen or liver, something hurts.
Good luck on BOTH your houses!
The LA real estate market is as crazy as NYC, so I feel your pain. (On the plus side, it meant we got over a dozen offers for the coop we were selling. On the down side, we were competing with dozens of other offers for every house we liked in the Hudson Valley.)
