Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

It's just perfect for me, and the house is great, too. I really love it.

This makes me super, super happy to read.

No kids for me. I worked at the restaurant. My sister was dressed as Wonder Woman handing out candy to kids. As a business we always take part, especially since we're on the main street, and the kids love showing off to Lisa and seeing what she chooses to dress up as each year. I don't mind staying inside. It was a lot warmer tonight.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I successfully freaked all the preteen and teen trick-or-treaters, and a lot of parents. Backlighting + flowy dress with hood and sleeves + holding really still if anyone was looking + stepping toward them if they came near = screaming. So much screaming.

Tiny kids? Those I wave at, smile, and give extra candy. But rambunctious preteen boys proclaiming they weren't scared of anything, and that I was just a statue to walk around to get to the candy? Oh no, I'm going to lunge and bare my teeth. One of them fell over backwards trying to get away from me.

Looking wicked good, Matt!

Escape to the Country, where cityfolk are looking for houses in country villages

I love that show. You get a little tour of England, with descriptions of what distinguishes different counties from each other.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That warms my shriveled heart, Jilli.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We went to the Postmodern Jukebox concert last night; on their social media accounts, they encouraged the audience to dress up for Halloween. It was fucking freezing, so I wore my fleece unicorn onesie, and people actually asked to take pictures with me. It was awesome.

Best costume, though, was the guy who had one of the box seats and was, for real, Abraham Lincoln. Funniest shit EVER.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

And other than that, Ms. Unicorn, how did you like the play?

There is some fine fancy dressing up going on around here.

Apparently if you put two numbers on a phone list and give a parenthetical comment of "(Try 1st)" on one of them people commonly interpret that to mean, "don't ever call this number".

Seriously, everyone sitting around me was like "Dude had BETTER not be tempting fate!" (SPOILER: He did not tempt fate.)

That's awesome, Tep! And I am relieved to know Lincoln was okay at the end.

I got myself to work, even though my bus passes all expired while I was on jury duty. Now I have to remember how to do this work thing...

Our wings are not tired.

Loving reading the Halloween tales. Well done, Jilli. My neighbor does that with a Jason costume and it is awesome to hear the screams coming from 2 doors away.

The kids came and sat out with us eating dinner and watching the festivities. I sent leftover candy home with them. We go to their place tomorrow night for dinner! Did I mention that son & GF have moved in together. They are saving and house searching for the next year and renting for now.

It is a joy to read of your neighborhood, Liese. Being and having good neighbors is all that it is cracked up to be.
