Today the highly reviewed BBQ truck by the south highway was unexpectedly open, so I made a trip out to pick up some burnt ends. Amazingly good, I'm going to have to try the ribs next time they're open to see if they can depose the local champs. It did cost me most of the afternoon though, I dropped into a food coma immediately after eating.

It's amazing how much better my bedroom and bath look with a bunch of stuff removed. Yeah yeah yeah. I know that's what is needed, just never happens Maybe this clean out for the work being done will be the impetus to getting stuff relocated or tossed. It has really worked in the garage, and started to work in the kitchen and living room. I might even get a project started (a scrap quilt) while I work from home tomorrow that would empty out a couple of piles of stuff.

Went for a 7-mile hike with the family today, and then hosted family dinner (roast chicken, roasted broccoli and cauliflower with garam masala, salad, and fresh bread from the bread machine). Now I'm dodging the pots that need to be cleaned, and waiting for cookies to cool.
My office is having a Halloween-decorating contest, and my team has gone all-in, so we have dozens of construction-paper pumpkins all over, and stand-up cardboard Peanuts characters (turns out one of my coworkers is pretty good at freehand drawing). I'm bringing in pumpkin-shaped butter cookies topped with orange glaze, with which to bribe the judges of the contest.
With luck I will be buying our flights to Paris and Tanzania tomorrow....
