Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Just logged on and saw the news. I am so sorry, Jesse, and am wishing strength and support for you.

Coding and Sleeping

So sorry for your loss, Jesse.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thanks, all. Yesterday's good news is that you can get in to Mount Auburn Cemetery, the best cemetery, for not very much money! If you're cremated and willing to share a plaque, in most cases. For whatever reason, I am super excited about this.

Winter's coming: temp dropped overnight enough to set off my low tire indicator. 1 down, 3 to go!

Our wings are not tired.

It is still 29F at 9AM! I took pictures of the frost on DH's truck. Inside the house downstairs it got to 42. I ran a space heater in the bedroom while we slept, but I don't run them downstairs while I am sleeping because of a healthy respect for fire. It is all the way up to 50 inside now that I have 4 of them running!

tl;dr - I am thinking of heading back to Florida.

Sounds like time, Laura!

I am at work, which seems like a good idea. They send me Condolence Flowers! Which is nice, but makes me sad. As I'm sure most of you can imagine, I'm fine when I'm just working. Senior Colleague called me, and didn't buy my "fine" when he asked how I was, so I just told him, and of course he was super sympathetic and said I didn't need to be here at all. So that was nice, but I can't imagine doing it with all my coworkers! Yikes.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Be at work if you need to be at work. Maybe you can resort to a non-specific "Family stuff" if people press you for details?

I feel like I should tell Steph that I amused myself during the flight back by watching 8 episodes of Riverdale. This show is hilarious and soapy. People slink around with ridiculous secrets and call each other by their full names for dramatic effect.

And hooray for Netflix and their deal with the CW, so I can watch the rest of the first season.

Right now, I'm watching the one with the maple tree tapping ceremony!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Oh my god, the Blossoms are THE FREAKIEST.

This show is hilarious and soapy.

Which is why I love it so. It totally commits to the ridiculousness.

And I'm disturbed that the twins who played Ben on Friends grew up hot.
