Fred, I'm so sorry for you and Hubs. I'm glad Coco picked you.
Sorry to keep dumping all this on y'all, but you're a giant component of my support network and so easy to reach.
-t, you just keep on dumping, we're here for it. And FWIW, I think you're making the right call. One of my team members was in that middle-of-the-night evacuation and I just can't imagine. (They all got out safely but the house is gone.)
Oy, my colleague just talked to a family where the mother was arrested by ICE yesterday and has been taken up to Cleveland. They are applying for a passport for a 2 year old US citizen, since they expect the mother to be deported within 2 weeks and want to keep the family together. (The father is also a US citizen.) Thankfully the mother had a good lawyer who has already taken steps to get the right paperwork done so the child can apply for a passport without the mother present. So sad.
Ugh flea. So terrible. Good luck to them.
I am at my parents' house. Decided not to in to work today after all, am kind of annoyed to have to use a vacation day on it, it whatever.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry about Coco, Fred.
Keep safe, -t!
Stay safe, -t, and please keep checking in with us.
I'm sorry about Coco, Fred, much kitty~ma for the black cat who picked you.
I slept for
15 hours.
Went to bed at midnight last night, woke up at 3pm today. What the actual fuck is wrong with me.
Granted, I took antihistamines, but the same ones I always take. Nothing different in my routine at all. I remember waking up to turn the alarm off, and then asleep until 3 wtf pm.
Also granted, I feel pretty good today. idk
Sometimes you just need a lot of sleep. Bodies iz weird.
Yup.
Here's an interactive map of evacuation areas. In this view, my house is about where the "i" in "Evacuation" in "Jamieson Canyon" etc. is

Oof, -t. I'm glad you went to your parents' place.
Today I finally got around to sending in a sexual harassment complaint to a vendor. The vendor's HR rep wants to talk to me now, so that should be fun. Having the complaint sent is a bit of a relief though.
Furry-ma to Coco.
-t, glad you're safe, I hope your house stays outta any zones.
So my cats spent 3 hours with a D.O.G. Inspection at Brian's, so he came over here with his little Italian greyhound, Jeep, who stayed on his lap the whole time. Loki was hinked and watched from the stairs (though he did come down once to rub on B's head, but then Jeep got lungy and Loki inflated and retreated.) Pumpkin, otoh...Well. She stared him down, then deliberately lolled on the carpet gratuitously. After I left for the pool, she joined them on the couch AND WENT TO SLEEP for almost 2 hrs, letting B pet her. Fearless, that one, indeed.
