I'm so sorry, Fred. It doesn't ever get easier.
So much fire~ma to -t and others being harmed. It is so scary to watch and so heartbreaking to think of all that has been lost.

Stay safe, -t, and yes please keep reporting in. And everybody else in the area, safe you too, and report in when you can.
The smoke keeps getting worse . ( for those that don't know - I am far from the fires), We are in a high fire probability . After the flood danger last winter I am creating a bug out box. Just a place for a change of clothes , my purse, and electronics to live in case I have to leave suddenly i toss my drugs in before I go out the door. It won't do me a lot fo good in an earthquake, but if we get into one of the situations where they let you in the house for so long - I'll know where stuff is . a basic plan makes me feel better. A lot of the people I know are doing this
Thinking about you a lot -t .
and my heart goes out to you Fred.
Thanks for the thoughts. We should have a better grasp on the situation after Coco sees the oncologist tomorrow. (They're squeezing us in because, as these things always go, we leave for vacation on Saturday.)
-t, hoping for calm winds.
Fred, I'm so sorry for you and Hubs. I'm glad Coco picked you.
Sorry to keep dumping all this on y'all, but you're a giant component of my support network and so easy to reach.
-t, you just keep on dumping, we're here for it. And FWIW, I think you're making the right call. One of my team members was in that middle-of-the-night evacuation and I just can't imagine. (They all got out safely but the house is gone.)
Oy, my colleague just talked to a family where the mother was arrested by ICE yesterday and has been taken up to Cleveland. They are applying for a passport for a 2 year old US citizen, since they expect the mother to be deported within 2 weeks and want to keep the family together. (The father is also a US citizen.) Thankfully the mother had a good lawyer who has already taken steps to get the right paperwork done so the child can apply for a passport without the mother present. So sad.
Oh, jeez.
Ugh flea. So terrible. Good luck to them.
I am at my parents' house. Decided not to in to work today after all, am kind of annoyed to have to use a vacation day on it, it whatever.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry about Coco, Fred.
Keep safe, -t!
