Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm sorry things are so hard, Kat.

:/ I guess you just have to keep saying that and pretend she actually hears it. Bleh.

Taking tomorrow off. Looks like I'll be rearranging the litterbox room furniture ( because I want to) and maybe doing my car emissions test. Maybe on the latter.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Kat, that's so hard. As someone who was primary caregiver for a few years, I kinda get your mother's perspective. Sounds like the respite care is for her more than anyone else, but maybe that's what she needs. That could help explain why she's not really hearing you and your needs. I am glad that you can go see him every day.

And Jilli, huge ugh on your behalf too. I had a person like that in my life, only in my case it was my sister so she was sort of stuck with me up until the end, but I saw her pull that move on so many people who loved her. I wish I had advice for you.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

::waves::

Made it to all my stuff today. So tired. And hungry. But the food is all in the kitchen yards away from the bed I do not wish to leave, so that is a dilemma. Not to mention all the tasks I didn't get done.

So hard, Kat. No advice, I just hear you at this point.

Compassionately intolerant

Still so fucking humid.

It's like slogging through an aquarium around here. Definitely not October weather.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

We've been lucky on the humidity front for the most part, but the temperatures have been the high 80s.

"Climate Change is a hoax!" my ass!

Harvest is late in southern MN, which is a bad thing.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Woke up at 2AM to the smell of smoke, and incredible wind blowing. Turns out there's huge fires in Napa and Sonoma counties, thousands of people evacuated, maybe hundreds of homes destroyed. It still smells like smoke here, 60 miles to the south. Air quality is bad so no run this morning.

My BIL's sister and her husband were evacuated at 2AM but are otherwise fine.

Gah, fires + wind advisory = badness. The wind last night blew my closed umbrella over and my canoe off its sawhorses, must have been awful for the firefighting.

The Napa/Sonoma fires are not super near me (looking at a map. 20-30 miles for the closest), but the smoke is very very bad. I could see it billowing over the hills as I drove to work this morning and it's very twilight-y lighting-wise.
