information libertarian

I have gained a little weight and am trying to eat less candy, so every day I resolve "no candy" but then every day seems to boil down to "kill my husband, or eat candy?" and I eat candy. Sigh.

Home renovations, they're not for kids, folks, and my husband seems like he's actually a kid hiding in the body of a 6'6" 48 year old.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I'm sorry, flea. Husband is very good with a lot of things, but there are some other ones that make me want to strangle him.

I'm considering going to the ER for this migraine. Woo?

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

For those in need of good news: One of the new Nobel Laureates in Medicine is my PhD advisor's PhD advisor.

My advisor's postdoc advisor is also a Nobel Laureate, so I have two Nobel-winning grand-advisors!

I want to have the energy post-work to get things done but I keep...not having it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh dear, flea and Dana. Dana, I would go to the ER, even if you wouldn't normally, given your trip, right? Ugh.

Very cool, Una!

I want to have the energy post-work to get things done but I keep...not having it.

Same, same.

Eventually, the totally unprecedented anxious-making things at work have got to stop, right? It's one thing that never happens after another!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Soon I will give Mr. S a bath.(which means I will probably get drenched, as he likes to splash a lot) Gary's on a business trip, so I'm flying solo.

Sorry to post and run, that kinda day. Earning my superior performer status ( and the percentage raise isn't all that, but I know what the pool is like, so 3.2% at my salary, I'll take it. It's like 10 pairs of full price flues, after taxes! Reality: up retirement contribution to eat it up.)

Cat fountain arrived. Both cats wouldn't stop drinking out of it, so I think it might cure the toilet drinking. It's even ceramic! [link]

Complete change of pace, but I can't stop thinking about it:

On the way home, saw aftermath of what mighta been a hit and run. Middling teen crumpled on sidewalk, feeling gingerly up torso, feet in street. Pulled over blocking traffic to call 911, but saw 2 other people pulled off safer, busting out of their cars& running towards him on their phones, so figured I was redundant and a hazard. Heard sirens shortly thereafter. It's a bad spot, pedestrians cross there & visibility for oncoming traffic is bad.. I really hope he's ok.
