Zoe: Planet's coming up a mite fast. Wash: That's just cause, I'm going down too quick. Likely crash and kill us all. Mal: Well, that happens, let me know.

Since the election I've been following a local political forum that is mostly composed of Trumpites. Sadly, they're saying very little, one way or the other, about Puerto Rico (or the Virgin Islands or Mexico or anywhere else, for that matter). They are still all of a doo-dah over kneeling during the national anthem. Say what you will about him, Trump has been very successful about directing his fans attention away from his (many) failures. They didn't even say that much about the latest failure to kill off ObamaCare. It was all KNEELING all the time.

Successfully installed new smoke/CO d etector. Did I mention the smoke detector decided to die this morning too? I got them at the same time, so of course.

And of course new doesn't use same bracket and by the way, the old is GLUED to the wall and removing it takes off paint & it's really hard drilling in these walls....oy. But it is done.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse maybe if you make a to-do list?

The to-do list is actually short, but it includes possibly finding a different location for a sign, and I could go scout it out this afternoon. I should have just done that yesterday, but oh well.

Daaaang, the first couple who saw the house the night before it listed? They're putting together an offer right now with their realtor, after finding out there's an open house tomorrow.

That sounds about right.

Because books.

I am snarly and really wanting to start shit on FB about the national embarrassment-in-chief. I hope everyone who voted for him realizes their part in killing people in Puerto Rico.

Apparently I woke up as Dana this morning.

But I was a little snarly last night, too. I watched the first five minutes of La La Land, which I've never seen, and it infuriated me all out of proportion. I guess I wasn't in the mood for a musical.

Ok, I went and looked at the location of the problematic signage, and now I'm treating myself to Shake Shack.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Oh god, I just found 2 graduation cards from last spring (nope, not last, 2016!!) that I never sent off AND 1 from the year before (2015!). Jesusita I am often times a mess. OK, adding in a mea culpa note to each and getting these in the mail.

2 of these, I should note, are FAMILY.

Compassionately intolerant

Bee, at least there's pretty strong renter rights in DC?

Meara, the extra special tenant's rights in DC are mainly reserved for large groups of people in multi-family units.

There are lots of things single units are not protected from. I'm figuring what I can do. Which, right now, seems like not much.

I have to get through my hypnosis school in the next two weeks, so there is not a lot I can do.

Also, the dear friend I am helping through the dying process is doing really poorly. She weighs about 70lbs and cannot eat. And yet, her mind is perfectly clear. It's so sad.

Have any of you worked through recipes to help elders get optimal calories? I have to puree everything because she has am esophageal stent.

To be honest, I am not struggling to turn this boat around, but to keep her as comfortable as possible until her heart gives out.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sorry you're dealing with all of that. Toward the end, I'm pretty sure my grandfather mostly ate ice cream.

And my father just gets regular food pureed.
