Oh god, I just found 2 graduation cards from last spring (nope, not last, 2016!!) that I never sent off AND 1 from the year before (2015!). Jesusita I am often times a mess. OK, adding in a mea culpa note to each and getting these in the mail.
2 of these, I should note, are FAMILY.
Bee, at least there's pretty strong renter rights in DC?
Meara, the extra special tenant's rights in DC are mainly reserved for large groups of people in multi-family units.
There are lots of things single units are not protected from. I'm figuring what I can do. Which, right now, seems like not much.
I have to get through my hypnosis school in the next two weeks, so there is not a lot I can do.
Also, the dear friend I am helping through the dying process is doing really poorly. She weighs about 70lbs and cannot eat. And yet, her mind is perfectly clear. It's so sad.
Have any of you worked through recipes to help elders get optimal calories? I have to puree everything because she has am esophageal stent.
To be honest, I am not struggling to turn this boat around, but to keep her as comfortable as possible until her heart gives out.
I'm sorry you're dealing with all of that. Toward the end, I'm pretty sure my grandfather mostly ate ice cream.
And my father just gets regular food pureed.
I keep trying ice cream but it doesn't sit well.
The hospice nurse says that there are no empty calories, so I'm trying everything. So far, potato soup is the only thing that works consistently.
Today I did:
[x] Clean off dining room table
[x] Clean bathroom, toilet, bathtub
[x] Wash dishes
[x] Clean off coffee table
[x] Take out trash
[x] Drop off compost
[x] Make bed
[x] Fold laundry
But I didn't get to:
[ ] Put away dishes
[ ] Dust
[ ] Put away books and comics
[ ] Vacuum
[ ] Clean off desk
Stupid mild depression/lack of motivation. I really need to get my apartment clean.
Scola, you did like nine times as much stuff as I did today. Don't beat yourself up.
Seriously -- all of those things could/should be on my list, and I haven't done shit. I guess I could say I made the bed, but that's just pulling the duvet up.
That's a lot more than I did, Scola.
And Jesse, for that matter.
And I kinda want a nap now.
I drove my mom to the airport this morning. Then I came home and sat on a couch until I took a nap. You're doing awesome, Scola.
I went to the library to pick up books, took Sara to the doctor, had McDonald's for lunch, and then napped for four hours. Be proud, Scola.
