So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yeah, what Matt's asking. Because I don't know about California, but in Washington, the seller has to actually sign off on the offer for it to be accepted and the house to go into escrow, so the seller in this case is sounding kind of sketch, too.

Guess who got woken up at 2:16 am by a malfunctioning CO detector? Oof.

(Not alarm or low battery, different beeps. Probably dust.)

And then I had really boring Voice Loop training (think the mission control chatter, we will be doing that for commissioning for JWST) lead by a late 20something engineer with a dudebro haircut, but dressed like my 90 year old grandpa in 1990. Down to the old man shoes. And I didn't get any hipster or fashion affectation vibes. I was just like, oh. I mean, we have all sorts, but this was new.

Hoping y'all get better housing news.

The status is NOT quo.

Matt, as far as our agent can figure, the listing agent was only showing the owner offers that he was bringing in himself (so as not to split the commission with someone else), so the owner had already signed off on something not realizing what was happening. By the time he realized what was happening, the offer had already gone into escrow. He could take him to court, but that turns into everyone suing everyone and no one getting the house for years. I can't keep hoping for this house. It hurts too much. And I know it's only a house and we can keep renting and looking, but I get so annoyed when people (not here) chirpily tell us how everything happens for a reason and an even better place is coming, especially when those people do not live in LA and really don't understand how limited the options are or how expesive everything is. And we can't just move. ND's business is here. My dream school is here. Blah this post is stupid and I feel like I should just delete it. But it really was a place we could have been the rest of our lives with an apartment my mom could have lived in. And that's really hard to find, and she's getting older and has been having some health issues and I'm just kind of sick at heart tonight.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Once again, Nilly said it much more eloquently that I ever could. If I have hurt or offended anyone here, I am sorry and hope you can forgive me.

Because books.

Don't delete, Pix. I can't even imagine how hard real estate is out there. And I know what you mean about it being too painful to keep hoping. I'm just sorry you guys ran into such a shitty agent.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, that sucks, Pix and ND.

Also sucks for beekaytee!

May all of your housing situations work out beautifully.

Oh beckytee, just read your Beep Me. I'm so sorry. I hope you're able to figure this out.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Man, if I was that seller...I understand not wanting to have everything tied up in court, but I would have some things to say to that agent. Along with getting his license revoked.

I'm sorry, Sophia.
