Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Earlier today, I walked by a sign for our mayor's re-election, and wondered why he bothered to print up signs, because how is anyone running against him? And then I just got the sponsored Facebook ad for his opponent. So now I know!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gary and I took turns today wrangling Mr. S. Lots of running around.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Am in my new apartment. Squeaky took the trip well, but she has yet to some out of her carrier.

And for the first time in my life, I'm a suburbanite!

Congrats! Cats are weird. Loki is usually violently ready to get out of the carrier when we get home, but last night I had to bring him home in a ginormous borrowed hard carrier from the vet because he'd peed so freaking much in the soft carrier I took him in , it was soaked (this is a new thing. It's fucking annoying.) Anyway, he made his usual frenzied attempts at escape, but when I opened the door, damn cat wouldn't come out. It took Pumpkin going IN with him to evict.

Ok, Squeaky is now out and inspecting the new apartment. She's has yet to approve, though.

It's weird realizing I'll have to drive everywhere. That hasn't been true for me since high school.

Our wings are not tired.

I didn't get my driver's license until I moved to Norfolk VA at 21. I got a new job and they told me part of my job was driving to the bank and post office. When I told them I didn't have a license they looked at me like I was from outer space. They assigned another employee as my licensed driver and taught me to drive.

Our wings are not tired.

Honestly, that was the least of the culture shock that hit me moving to the South.
