"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

My idiot brother is moody and grumpy because he wants to go home and "we won't let him" despite the fact that all roads leading that way are closed! Guess he thinks they will make an exception for him.

NPR had a couple of those types of folks on yesterday. One guy said "I evacuated because they told me that I had to, and now they won't let me back. Next time, I'm not leaving!"

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

House~ma, Kristin and Drew! Fingers are crossed.

Not been a good few weeks. Made worse tonight by GI issues after eating ice cream. Can one develop lactose intolerance in their 40s? This is just adding insult to injury. And I'm getting sick. The universe can go to hell.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Can one develop lactose intolerance in their 40s?

Yes. Signed, thank goodness for almond milk products.

Can one develop lactose intolerance in their 40s?

Yes, this happened to me, too. And it took me a couple of months to figure out what was going on because I wasn't paying attention.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Sorry about the lactose reaction, Maria. And the rest of the no good. Wishing better for you.

House~ma, PixDesigns--that's a really nice house!

Sophia, Zen's rec is a good one, but what I use is this. It's one of the few Burt's Bees products I can use, as it doesnt' contain lanolin. Lanolin is really good for human skin, but I'm allergic, dammit. This stuff is great. It feels a bit grainy on your fingers, but it smooths out with the heat of your skin. It smells pleasant, and I've used it for a couple of years with no bad reactions. I even use a very minimal sheer amount on my face.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Definitely checking out some of these products. Rather than using a regular antiperspirant/deodorant, I've taken to using Gold Bond powder on my pits and underboob area, which doesn't feel at all greasy and works just as well, at least for purposes of soaking up sweat so that I don't get the dread bra band distress.

Major house~ma to Pix and ND - that place looks fantastic. How far is it from your current abode?

Hey y'all. I have been so far behind in Natter and have finally caught up. Tons of ~ma and love to those struggling and heaps of hurrays to those who have had good things happen.

For anyone not in Bitches or on FB, I started fostering for a dog rescue three weeks ago. The first two weeks I had very sweet dogs and was happy to give them some loving and then send them off to the adoption events. Both were adopted the weekend after I fostered them.

This week I brought home two puppies. They were total goofballs on Sunday, Monday, and part of Tuesday (I had to return the girl Tuesday because she is getting fixed today). She alternated between sleeping on my feet or just snuggling up to me for loves and then being the aggressor in starting wrestling matches with the male. The male was a tad more aloof. He happily participated in the wrestling matches, but when she would bark at something, he simply followed her and watch whatever was going on. In the process he stole my heart and I have a foster fail already. With the female at the vet today, I just have Crowley. He played great with Jack yesterday, slept with CJ overnight, and now he is napping in my office with me. I will get the female back later today and will foster her the rest of the week. But Crowley...he is staying.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yay for Crowley!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Oh my god everyone is irritating today.
