this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My brother did a DNA test, and he emailed me late last night with the subject line "DNA preview". He didn't give me the full results, but he said we are 2% North African and have no Germanic DNA, which seems impossible. I'm tempted to call and wake him up to find out the rest.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

After unpacking all day, we had a bad night. Because some idiot (me) left the top off the dog food tub, one of our dogs (Chet) ate way too much, and dealt with it by puking all over the house. Would not have been so bad, except it was 2:30 in the morning. I cleaned puke up while the DH walked both dogs, in case of any issues showing up at, um, the other end. Got back to sleep around 4:00. Pets, they are so damn rewarding.

Our wings are not tired.

Ha, my niece and I were just talking about how our pups would eat until they got sick given the opportunity, while we have other family pups that will leave food in the bowl all day. Sorry for the rude house warming.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, that does sound like a bad night!

Did I tell here about my friend getting a free large movie popcorn for her birthday last week? Large movie popcorn is LARGE, and I was little afraid I wouldn't be able to stop eating, just like a dog! It all worked out OK in the end.

I wanna go over to Hampdenfest, but my cats are lying on me.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Sister went back to dog class today, her first ordinary thing since her husband died 9 days ago. I hope it went okay and people didn't try to talk to her about it.

I'm glad to help out any way I can but I think one of my nieces is angry with me and it's kind of exhausting spending all my time with other people. I took yesterday off from work and ran errands and did laundry and hung out in my own house, which was restful.

Best of luck to everyone in the southeast, it sounds horrifying.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

It is a list kind of day, so 1) I feel accomplished 2) I don't just sit here all day.

So today:

- trainer cancelled session today
- went grocery shopping and then put them all away
- walked dog (am dogsitting) albeit a short walk
- showered
- cleaned bathroom sink and picked up half the clothes in bathroom
- washed all dishes
- made breakfast

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That is super tough, Suela, but I'm glad you're getting some rest too. This is hard on you, too, not just sis.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Sending strength and ~ma to everyone dealing with hurricane prep/evacution and loved ones in the storm's way, and grieving losses. My condolences Matt on your loss. And Consuela, I think grief is often expresses as anger. I'm sorry your niece is taking hers out on you.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Took the cats to the vet for their annual checkups and shots. Both got clean bills of health.
